All over the world there are so many people who are extremely rich and very successful in their business life. However, in spite of everything that they have something which come from their past may disturb them so they can feel alone. Can you imagine this situation? Lets think about Nicolas who is the main character in The game. He is so successful and wealthy that he can come by everything that he wants. However, his past is always with him so he is always unhappy. In his 48th birthday, his brother Conrad prepares to him an unforgettable birthday party which will change his life and his perspective of life so I believe that this is a game because of some reasons which make me think like this.
Firstly, as I said before, he is so successful in his business life but in his private life, there are something which make him unhappy and alone. In particularly, he can never forget forget his father death. His father committed suicide on his 48th birthday and now Nicolas is on his 48th birthday,too so his brother wants to change Nicola’s monotonous life and he organizes a game for him to make his life funnier and more meaningful and more active so all of the arrangements are regulated by Conrad so we can conclude from these things that it is a game.
The second point, when he goes to company which is called for ‘Consumer Recreation Services’, they say that it is a profound life experience so its aim is to give them a different and strange life. In addition to it, some testes are made on the Nicolas in the company in order to find out his life, his emotional situation and his subconscious so thanks to these test results, they can organize the game. Also everything is arranged so faultless that there is no problem while playing the game so we can find out from these things that it is a game, not real.
The third point, there are some strange events in the film.For example, while he is watching the news on TV, speaker on TV starts to communicate with him via television. If we believe that it is not a game, is there anyone who can explain this situation? If it is real, we should admit that a person and another person who is in TV can communicate with each other. It is ridiculous, isn’t it? Also, at the end of the film, Nicolas shots his brother by mistake but Conrad doesn’t die because this is the part of the game, too so we can understand from the these samples that it is a game, not real. And the last and the most important thing, Conrad confesses that this is a game and with this confession, we completely understand that there is a no doubt about it. Some people argue may argue that this is not a game. On the contrary to it, they believe that it is a real thing. However, they should find out that his every action and every incidents that he comes across are the part of the game and all of these things are planned by Conrad. For example, they guess Nicola’s suicide after he shots his brother and if this action isn’t planned and isn’t guessed, Nicolas certainly dies but they can save his life because this is the part of the game, too so we can conclude these findings, it is a game.
In conclusion, our past is part of our life. Maybe, we can’t espace our from it but if we depend on our past, it may harm us. Also, we should know value of our life and we should keep our eyes open because we can’t bring back moments that we lived. Also, maybe we can have everything that we want such as lots of money, houses, cars and a perfect career. If we always think about the past and if we can’t catch on the moments and finally if we don’t expect any positive things from our future, we can’t take pleasure from the things that we have so don’t think about the past, don’t worry about the future, live the moment…

PERFECT HUSBAND
Relationship between women and men has been argued for years.It is a difficult subject,isn’t it?Both of them would like to have perfect couples.I am a woman and I am aware of my responsibilities.In addition,as a woman,I want a perfect husband who knows his responsibilities as much as me.Well,how should be an ideal husband ?I will explain ‘my perfect husband’ clearly.
Firstly, I want a husband who will certainly remain loyal to me.He must love me so much that he can not see any woman who tries to attrack his attention.Needless to say, men are not aware of the beautiful women around them because they are so faithful to their spouses.I know that he will never interested in them but he must be careful against beautiful and attractive women who may be dangerous.Also, my husband must think that the most beautiful woman in the world is my wife and ,of course, he must be romantic.In addition to them,the most important thing that he will not forget our special days such as my birthday,our marriage anniversy,Valentina Day and something like that.Of course,he must give some special gifts with my favourite flowers.Also, I want a husband who makes me surprised. For example,he can do a special holiday plan for us in order to stay alone with me.Then,I want a husband who gives me so much importance that I can feel special and important.
The second point,I want a husband who respect me and ,in particularly,my job.For example,if I want to build a career,he must support and help me.If I have to come to home from work late,he must look after our children.Of course,men like doing houseworks.However,I don’t expect that he will do everything because life is equal but he can cook meal and clean our home if I have to work late or if I don’t feel good and I am completely sure that he will not complain while doing them.Also,because my job is so hard and serious,my husband must take care of our children when they are sick.
The third point,I want o husband who will respect my social life.After a tiring week,when I go to sport center in order to get rid of my stress and be relax,he will stay at home and take care of our children.Also, he must know that I sometimes need to go out alone.For example, when I go out with my friends, he can watch his important football match with his friends in our home.Of course,he will let me go out without him because men never look another woman ,in other word,their eyes can’t see any woman even if they are so beautiful and attractive so he will not feel uncomfortable when I go out with my friends. In addition,I want a husband who can decide spontaneously.For example,if I go to cinema with him,he immediately accept my offer even if there is a really important football match in TV.
The last point, I want a husband who likes listening to me whatever I say.He mustn’t complain while I’m speaking even if my subjects are simple and small things.And,of course,he will never get bored me.Also.my husband must like shopping with me so much.He must be patient and full of love towards me and I want a husband who doesn’t give importance money so I can buy eveything that I want.

UNEXPECTED EXPERIENCE
That day was one of the most unforgettable days in my life .In fact, everything seemed normal at the beginning of the day. When I got up, I heard the sound of birds which were soaring below our apartment. They gave me a great deal of energy so I thought that that day something would make me happy. Also, I felt depressing hot. It was a usual summer day for me.
I started to prepare immediately in order to catch up my lesson. However, something make me disturb before I left the home. I couldn’t understand why I felt like that. During the day, my feelings increased in an incredible way. After a tiring day, while returning to my home from the school I suddenly found out that the sky was almost red and then I noticed that dogs were barking without stopping. At that moment, I understood everything on the grounds that red sky, dogs which were barking non-stop and my instincts were sings for us. A great severe earthquake was about to occur. However, it was so late because as soon as I found out the reality of everything that occurred during the day, the ground started to shake in a sudden way.
I was in the kitchen when the terrifying shaking started. I can still hear the sounds of plates which fell down to the ground. Plates fell down so fast that I found out my desperate situation at that moment. When I opened my eyes, everything was very silent. In fact, I could not understand what happened but after deeply thinking, I noticed that I was under the landslide. Where were the others? My mom, my dad and my little brother? We were together only two minutes ago but now I didn’t have any information about them. Did they die or were they alive? I was about to go out of my mind. It wasn’t a nightmare. It was completely real and terrifying. I had difficulty with breathing. The only thing that I wanted to be rescued and be reunited with my sweet and warm family. I needed to hear a voice but there was not. I could feel that I was about to lose my conscious because of hunger, thirsty and the weight of concrete. I couldn’t understand how the days passed since I didn’t have the concept of night and daytime. I heard some voices and I could not believe whether these sounds were real or not. I didn’t remember the rest of my survival war because I passed out. When I came to, I were lying on the bed in a hospital. When I asked to nurse what happened to me, she said that I had stayed under landslide in six days and then rescue team saved me from deadly wreckage.
After six terrible days under landslide, I couldn’t believe that I was alive. As soon as I wake up, my eyes searched for my family. Where were they? I saw so many people who were crying noisily and all of them were looking around their family members hopelessly. In fact, I found out that I was alone anymore. However, I didn’t want to believe it but I had to get accustomed to their absence because they died. I will never forget at that moment when I learned their dead. Since those sorrowful days, whenever I see a news about earthquake, I looked back and that days give me a great deal of pain. No matter how I try to forget, I can not manage to this. However, I know I have to get accustomed to live with the memory of those dark and painful days.

CURING OURSELVES (opinion essay)
All over the world,there are many different types of serious illnesses such as cancer,diabetic,psoriasis,leukemia etc.Also,there are many types of treatment methods.Have you ever heard Laught Therapy?It is a kind of treatment method.It means laughing and looking to world in a pozitive way can cure your ailments.According to my opinion,besides medical treatment,these kind of methods are necessary to cure ourselves.
There are many serious illnesses that can be cured not only by medical treatment but also can be cured by looking to everyting that is included in your life in a pozitive way.For instance,I can give the example of cancer patients.Cancer is a very serious disease that affects both our body and our mind.In order to cure it,doctors use different kind of treatments.However,besides this,people who are cancer should think pozitively because pozitive emotions produce pozitive changes in their body.I think we should not ignore this method.
Also,if you don’t believe me,you can search Norman Cousins’s Laugh Therapy.He was well-known writer and editor.Unfortunately,he became seriously ill.His ailment was ankylosing spond and doctors said he had only a 1 in 500 chance of survival.However,he hadn’t given up.He was determined to live.In addition to medical treatment,he made a receipt by himself.Everyday,he watched comedy films,read humorous books and did these kind of activities.Finally he recovered within a few months.Also,his doctors supported his idea.Can you see the power of his Laugh Therapy?
There is one more example for you.One of my friends was leukemia.Her parents and relatives were so sorry for her and her situation gave them pain.However,she never was hopeless.On the contrary to this,she was determined to overcome her ailment.She was full of pozitive emotions towards life.Finally medical treatment and her perspective of life paid off.She fortunately recovered.I must say that even in those dark times,she always smiled because she knew that if she thinks negatively,negative changes will increase in her body.

NEVER GIVE UP (compare and contrast paragraph about 2 films)
All of us encounter with people who have different obstacles in our lives.There are so many people with obstacles so it is inevitable for us not to coming across with them.When we look at them at first,we are sorry for them and sometimes their situations give us pain.However,there are some people that change our perception of handicapped people like Hellen Keller and Frank McCourt.Angela’s Ashes is a movie that tells us Frank McCourt’s tormented life.The Miracle Worker is a movie that tells us Hellen Keller’s life.After I watched both of them,Angela’s Ashes affected me much more than The Miracle Worker.The reason of this,Frank McCourt’s life is full of different obstacles.He lives in a dilapidated house with his family.His parents especially his father can’t do anything for their children.As a result,some of their children die because of hunger and different kind of illnesses.I think these are the most powerful and impressive scenes.Also,besides his financial problems,he suffers from emotional problems.He suffers from hunger,shame and meager.However,he always yearns for a beter life.In order to achieve it,he works in different jobs.As a result,he finds some money and decides to go to America.According to my opinion,Liberity Monument is a symbol is his freedom.He succees in escaping from his obstacles.Although Frank McCourt and Hellen Keller have different types of obstacles,they are same in some ways.Firstly,both of them never give up.Also,in spite of their limitations,they can manage to push their limits.They are always hopefull.I think it must be lesson for us who don’t have handicap or obstacles.Besides their similarities,their obstacles are different.As I said,Frank McCourt suffers from poverty and emotional problems.However,Helen Keller suffers from physical and emotional problems.She is both blind and deaf.Because of her physical situation,she doesn’t aware of outside,sounds and words.With the help of her tutor,she becomes aware of the words.She relates the things with words.I must say that her tutor is a very patient person.The scenes that she tries to teach something in a big deal of patient are so impressive.Now,I ask to you.If we were in their shoes,what would we do?Would be hopefull like them in spite of these obstacles?Would we overcome?I think we should think about that.These films are guide for us.The world is not a easy place for everyone but in order to simplify it,we can do something,can’t we?

MY BEAUTIFUL FRIEND (new revised desciptive essay)
Nazan is a girl who I met five years ago in high school.She is a real friend for me.She is so beautiful with her nice,long,blonde hair which looks like golden and effective brown eyes.She isn’t tall at all but a bit taler than I am.Her face features are so smooth that as if they were made by a sculptor.She always has a nice smile which makes her more beautiful and sweet on her face.I know that I will never forger her and our perfect friendship.
During the period we were together,I always admired her.While she was talking or looking at me with her sparkling eyes,I thought she must have been an angel.While we were going to somewhere else,she took all the attentions with her perfect,golden hair and fit body.Although she liked eating so much,she never gained weight .Whatever she wore,everything fitted her like a glove as if all clothes were manufactured for her.In addition to her perfect appearance,she had a wonderful character.No matter what I talked,she always listened to me carefully and patietly and then gave me so many important advices to solve my special problems.Also,she was helpful to other people from young to old so eveybody loved her but nobody love her as much as me.

WHY COLLEGE STUDENTS ARE UNDER THE STRESS? ( Cause and effect 2)
Winning a good university is one of the most important aims for every student.All students prepare for the university entrance exam in order to take a good education.In addition,all of them probably think that after they win the exam,everything will end.In fact the biggest problems start by winning of the university exam.College students face a lot of problems that include adaptation problems,lesson problems and financial problems leading to stress in their college lives.
Firstly,college students may have adaptation problems.After they come to a new city and a new environment, they can’t adapt easily.They have to leave their families,relatives and friends and come to a new city about which they don’t know anything.In addition to this,they may have some friendship problems.They may not have good relationship with their new friends and they feel alone so these situations may cause big amount of stress for college students.

MY GRADUATION CEREMONY ( process essay)
Graduation ceremony is important for every student.They all prepare for this important day before several months.Graduation means that a period of your life ends so it makes me so excited.My graduation ceremony was one of the most important days in my life and I am certainly sure that I will never forget that day because my high school education would end and my life would change after that event.For that day,I started to prepare two months ago.
Firstly,I had to decide what I would wear.One day, I went to bazaar with my friends.Another day, I went to bazaar with my mother and within two days, I searched for every shop in the city but I couldn’t decide because I saw many elegant clothes in every shop.Later,while I was returning from course to my home ,I saw a dress which was probably the most beautiful dress in the world in the shop window. Immediately, I bought it and now I needed shoes and a bag suitable for my dress.The next day,I bought both of them.As a result, my clothe problem was solved successfully.
Later,I started to think about my hair style.I was continually thinking about it.For example,while I was eating something or walking around the street or doing my homework,it was inevitable for me not to remember it.Finally,I decided about my hair style.In my opinion,curly hair was the best so in the end,all of my problems were solved succesfully.Now,the next step was to wait for that unforgettable day.
My graduation ceremony was one of the most exciting days in my life.That morning,I got up early because of my program.I had breakfast with my family.I could see that all of us so excited that we immediately finished our breakfast in order to prepare.After the breakfast, it was the time that I had started to prepare.I wore my beautiful dress and made my hair curly.In addition,I made some cosmetics up.When I finished my preparation,I looked at the mirror and I felt very well.And then,I went to school with my family.All of them were looking at me with admiration.I know that I will never forget their bright eyes while looking at me.After I wore my graduation costumes,my exciment increased.During the ceremony,all of my family member including my grandparents were with me.They continually looked at me with pleasure.That day,I again understood they are the most important assets in my life.

Capital punishment or death penalty is the killing of guilties as a punishment.It is a controversial issue that people discuss about all over the world.Some people are supporter of the capital punishment and they say that it should bu used in order to deter from crimes.On the other hand,the others are against to capital punishment.I think capital punishment is horrifying and should not be used.
In my opinion,capital punishment is barbaric and cruel.There have been some methods that used in execution of a person in history such as burning,hanging,electrocution,guillotine, starvation etc…Whether it’s a electric chair,lethal injection,hanging or other types of capital punishment,it is barbaric and terrifying to kill murder in front of a crowd of people.We as a society condemn people like Saddam Hussein when he murder his own people but while he was being hanged, so many people watched that scene without feeling anything.

THE CHURCH PICNIC (desciptive essay sample)
On Sunday August 22nd, the Delta Church of Religious Science had its first annual picnic. It was a gorgeous day at Contra Loma Reservoir in Antioch. The breeze gently ruffled the leaves as the branches of the shade trees swayed over the picnic tables. Although the mercury soared to 95 degrees, the heat was not oppressive. The Delta Church, having only formed last October, is relatively small with only seventeen members. Considering that, the turnout of thirty people for the picnic was outstanding. The picnic lasted four hours as conversations lingered, food was devoured and games were played. Throughout the day the sound of laughter echoed in the breeze as families and friends spent quality time together.
Contra Loma Park has an excellent set-up for groups. Instead of a traditional tableside small grill, the group picnic area has an extra-large BBQ centrally located among several tables. Everyone prepared his or her meal simultaneously on the grill. Church members were notified at Sunday services to "bring your own meat to BBQ". Thanks to Bill Cecil and his advance preparation, the BBQ coals were ashen and hot when everyone arrived. The food as it cooked on the grill filled the air with a variety of pleasing smells. There were hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages, chicken and mouth watering ribs.
In addition to the main course, everyone brought at least one potluck dish. The table was filled with appetizers, side dishes and desserts. Betsy and Reggie brought a homemade cheese ball that was half gone before some Church members could even make it over to that side of the table. Sunday school teacher Lonnie contributed her favorite recipe, a seven-layer Mexican dip served with homemade tortilla chips. And that was just the appetizers! Mary Anne's deviled eggs saw many a second helping, as did Faye's potato salad. There was a terrific tasting green vegetable salad that included tomatoes fresh from Reverend Kay's home garden. Patti's crock-pot full of BBQ beans hit the spot with its thick molasses sauce.
But the desserts really took center stage; Carol and Tim brought their ice cream making machine. The goal was to make ice cream; the fun was the team effort it took to produce the ice cream. Homemade ice cream requires a lot of hand cranking. Several of the attendees took their turn at the crank. A few of them boasted that the sore arm muscles they had entitled them to first servings. No one disagreed as the first helpings of melt-in-your-mouth vanilla ice cream were scooped out of the machine. Chocolate frosted cake, brownies and Rev. Kay's homemade fruit torte complemented the ice cream.
As the digestive juices started to flow, and a relaxing feeling was in the air, a call came from one of the teen church members, "Let the games begin!" First on the agenda was an egg toss. Reverend Kay was having so much fun throwing the egg she became over zealous. The egg flew right over Mike's head. SPLAT! The twelve-year-old identical girl twins were in the finals against the senior couple. Age and experience prevailed. Dave and Faye were the winners of the egg toss competition.
As everyone was cleaning gooey, drippy egg off various limbs and body parts, Bill decided to start the next game by himself. The game was supposed to be a water balloon toss fashioned after the egg toss. Bill had another idea. He thought his wife, Lonnie, needed some cooling off. Unfortunately for Bill, just as he heaved the water balloon towards Lonnie, she moved. Bill's balloon hit Mike in the center of his stomach with a big splash. One thing led to another and a water balloon fight ensued. Everyone got into the act, from Reverend Kay's elderly mother to Carol's one-year-old daughter, Cassidy. The roars of laughter coming from the Church group were truly contagious. The pure enjoyment experienced by all during that water balloon fight prompted another group nearby to applaud when it ended.
As the day was drawing to a close, several picnickers were engaged in exhilarating conversation, while others relaxed peacefully under the shade trees. The youngsters, accompanied by their parents, had headed over to the beach area. The older children swam and played water games in the reservoir. The younger ones built sandcastles by the shore. The wind had picked up slightly, providing welcome relief as the afternoon temperature was steadily rising. The food was delicious and the games had been thoroughly enjoyed. Everyone went home praising the organizers of the event for a job well done. The participants also deserve credit. My Room, My Haven (description essay sample)
Over the years I have bought and collected all sorts of silly items to decorate my room. There are posters as tall as you stand, several black lights, and a bumping stereo that all give my room its unique style. Although my room is very small, it easily holds all the stuff I need to relax and feel right at home.
At night, a total of twelve feet of black light tubing engulfs my room with light. This light includes a tinge of orange which is emitted by one of the black lights. This light is a four foot, double tube fixture which I painted fluorescent orange. The light from the two tubes hits the orange coloring, giving a slight orange tone to everything in the room. The other black light has an all black fixture and measures four feet. Because this particular fixture is black, it emits no light other than the black light that the tube produces. There are several items in my room which are black light sensitive. From posters to shotgun skeet clay pigeons, my room has many highlights of glowing items. The black lights add a lot of character to the room in that whoever enters the room, suddenly changes color. Clothes go from white to light purple, and the color of clothes sometimes changes completely.
Other lighting effects are also used to help give the room a fun and party like environment. A small light covered in red plastic wrap is placed in a corner of the room. This light is bright enough only to light just that corner, hence it does not impede on the already acquired orange tinge. A light blue lava lamp which is constantly on day and night, is placed near my bed. It is the only light that remains on while I sleep. Because it serves as the nightlight, I can wake up to a soft blue glow rather than having to turn on a much harsher normal white bulb lamp.
A small variety of posters that represent my interests fill every wall. The majority of the posters consist of scantily clad sexy women. These pictures were collected over time from magazines, and some were given to me by friends. One can tell what type of music I listen to by looking at the posters on my walls. Such artists as Kirt Cobain from Nirvana, the whole crew from Metallica, and an almost life size picture of Billy Joe from Green Day, all give the room a nice touch of style. You can see a few pictures of cars on the walls. Although my favorite car is not shown, several cars that I find appealing are displayed.
I must mention my stereo. This AIWA three disk CD player is capable of producing 500watts of sound. This powerhouse is channeled to four separate speakers, all providing perfect surround sound. The two main speakers each consist of an eight inch speaker, and two other internal tweeters. The other two speakers are four inches in diameter, and provide a nice midrange of sound. The system sounds great at volume. Yet I rarely use it to anywhere near its potential.
My room is my haven. Everything I could need and want to have fun in everyday life is in it. Many have complimented me for my lighting effects, and for my choice of posters. I await the day when I move into my new house. There, my room will be more than twice as large as it is now. Who knows what I'll do then...

REASONS OF DIVORCING (cause and effect)
All over the world especially in our country divorce rate is fairly high.It is a really big problem in our lives.He/she loves someone and marries but then something goes wrong unexpectedly so they divorce.It is a really tragic end ,isn’t it?Have you ever thought why they divorce in spite of their big love and perfect lives?In fact,there are a lot of important reasons which lead to divorce.
One of these reasons that before marring,couples think everything is perfect.They love and respect each other so much,problems aren’t important for them,they fly on the cloud etc…However,after marring,these emotions change swiftly.In spite of their love,they don’t respect each other because they don’t strrugle to get accustomed to marriage.In addition,even small problems can be brought up so couples start to get bored and then couples especially men deceive their partner unfortunately.Finally,they divorce.
Another reason leading to divorce that couples get marry without thinking carefully.Nowadays,so many young couples whose ages between 18 and 22 do that.In my opinion,their age aren’t enough to carry out and continue a marriage because they can’t carry responsibility of the marriage.As a result the same situation repeats.

TWO IMPORTANT CITIES IN MY LIFE (compare and contrast)
Coming from Mersin where is my hometown to Denizli was exciting and interesting for me.I like Mersin because of its vivid atmosphere.In addition,I like Denizli because of its silence and peaceful atmosphere.At first,I thought that these cities are completely different from each other but then I understood besides their differences,they have some things in common.
The first point,both of them have a big shopping center which are called Forum.They are so convenient for me in order to spend my free times.The second point,both of them are well-developed.Mersin is a developed city thanks to private companies and tourism income.Similarly,Denizli is a developed city thanks to its industry.The third point,both of them have places which relax me.In Mersin at the weekends,I went to sea side so its apperance and smell were a pozitive effect on me.In Denizli,I go to Incilipınar in order to walk around and escape from my distress.The last point,when you walk arond the streets of these cities in summer months,you can see so many tourists from other countries.

Nazan is a girl who I met five years ago in high school.She is a real friend to me.She is so beautiful with her nice long blond-hair which look like golden and effective brown eyes.She isn’t tall at all but a bit taller than I am.Her face features are so smooth that as if they were made by a sculptor.She always has a nice smile on her beautiful face.
